Why is it important to have a different skincare routine for different skin types?
Different skin types have different needs to keep their skin healthy. Each skin type reacts differently to each ingredient, which is why it is important to have a different skincare routine for different skin types.
What are the products people with oily, combination, acne-prone and dry skin should add to create the perfect skincare routine?
Everyone needs to use moisturiser in their skincare routine, but the texture of moisturiser should be chosen based on skin type. For example, gel moisturisers for oily skin, lotions for normal and combination skin types, and creams for dry skin types.

People with oily and acne-prone skin should add products containing Salicylic acid and Niacinamides to their skin routine. People with dry skin should use products containing ceramide, glycerine, and hyaluronic acid. Those who have sensitive skin should use gentle face cleansers and should avoid products with fragrance, parabens, and sodium laurel sulphate.
Combination skin may require extra attention in terms of using different products for oily T zone and dry skin areas, and it’s recommended to avoid using oily products on the T zone area.
What are some products to add as one ages?
As we grow older, our skin becomes more dry as our hydration level decreases. A good moisturizer containing hyaluronic acid is important for ageing skin. Some of the products to add are peptides and serums containing antioxidants like Vitamin C and Coenzyme-Q10. Retinol contains creams to boost collagen in the skin. Do not forget to continue using sunscreen.
